Jinde Charities calls on the public to help people affected by heavy snowfall£ºShare your love and reach out to the victims
Based on government reports, since Oct 10th until the end of January a heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures hit 19 provinces throughout China, including many cities and villages, autonomous regions and Xin Jiang province. Severe winter, in many places the heaviest in decades, caused a disaster on various scale. Up to now, 60 people are known to be dead; 1,75 mln people had to be evacuated, about 223,000 houses collapsed, 862,000 households were damaged, financial losses amount to 53 bln yuan. Disaster stricken area reaches up to 140 mln mu (almost 10 mln hectares).
Facing recent winter disaster, Jinde Charities has been carefully watching the situation in disaster stricken areas and keeping in touch with benefactors inside and outside of China, hoping that the relief efforts can be brought to the victims as soon as possible. In cooperation with people of good heart, as well as with corporations outside and inside China, Jinde Charities would like to provide assistance to those in need and call for immediate help to those who suffered from heavy snowfall and low temperatures. Jinde Charities would like to become a bridge between those who are willing to help and the victims of disastrous winter.
As the present situation unveils, it¡¯s obvious that the scale of a disaster is enormous. The urgent need of food, cloths, blankets, etc., is simply overwhelming and exceeds the efforts which were made up to now. Jinde Charities decided to urge relief work in order to provide financial support to the victims, supplying them with rice and quilts. The work will also include efforts to rebuild damaged houses and farm buildings, greenhouses, reconstruct damaged school buildings, bring water supply to people and farm animals, etc..
Even though the relief effort has got off the ground only very recently, it has already caught attention of many people of good heart. Jinde Charities calls for more people of good will to join the relief work. At the same time we hope that also companies and enterprises will be able to provide funds and goods to support the relief efforts.
